WARNING!!

Game has hidden buttons in strategic places on the world map, which automatically redirect you to a website when you inadvertently press one (Which you will once you get far enough). My Anti Virus software started sending out alerts soon after, beware!

I wont be playing any more Gameark games again (which is a shame, it was actually a pretty good game until then).

Annoyingly addictive! Didnt realise just how many hours I'd spent on this game until I just checked the clock. Personal best is currently lv12 single player and lv19 2 player.

Dont know if its intentional or a bug, but during 2 player mode you can ressurect your dead bro by upgrading his life at the end of each level. I ended playing both characters I'd focus on P1 and allow P2 to die early on, and focus on levelling P2s damage and max health after each boss. Once P1 was starting to struggling and was low on health at the end of a boss, I'd cure P2s HP and resurrect him for the next level.

As I hadnt needed to waste his powerups on curing his HP up until this point he was generally pretty powerful 200+ max HP - 8 damage. Now I'd just alternate between characters upgrading one until the second could barely continue then swapping between them.

TooDX responds:

That's an intentional feature - the idea is that for a 2 player run, we don't want somebody to get left out if they happen to die - if their bro can clear the boss solo, they should be able to come back.

Using it that way is an effective use of the 2 player mechanics on a solo run, although it gives the boss a few things as well!

Nice runs sir!

Good game, just one small issue. once you have completed a mini game, it becomes impossible to replay and collect any socks you missed the first time.

You should be able to continue playing the mini games even after you have maxed out on them, so you can collect the socks.

Pretty good effort. Reminds me a little of Shadows of the Empire, in that the levels change type as you progress.

I only reached the Deathstar level, I have to get ready for work, but I'm looking forward to completing it later tonight. Also the saved data screen seems buggy, I keep getting error messages and unable to load data. I'll try using a different browser later and see if that fixes anything.

One small issue, on the character select screen, you can scroll forwards through each character, but not backwards, sure the chars loop and you get back to them by spamming forwards but a back button would have been nice.

Hmm... Does it say that even after you've created a save file, then closed the game and opened it again? I'll keep that in mind for the character select next time.

Simple and fun. Eventually managed to reach the 15th night before getting overwhelmed.

I did however stumble upon an unlimited gold glitch, when you get caught by a troll you lose 1 gold, if you run out of gold you lose your crown and its game over.

However once the Giant trolls start coming after night 7 or 8, if you get caught by one of those, you drop 3 gold, however you only actually lose 1 gold from your total. Effectively you can run back and forth hitting the big trolls, and make a 2 gold profit each time your hit. this makes you more or less invincible, and allows you to buy a huge army the very next turn.

I think I just had an Acid trip....

Am I just shit at this game, or is it impossible to beat the first level?

I sense an Aprils fool lol.

Awesome

Really loved the game, been playing it on and off for a week or so killing time before work. Out of curiosity was the game updated recently? I could have swore that it was the Z key to jump when I last played it a few days back.

Enjoyable

I'm not really a fan of card collector type games, but I actually found myself enjoying this one, its surprisingly addictive.

The only problem I had with the game was that the evolution system was a bit complicated, and wasn't explained very well, a tutorial would have been nice. Whilst simpily following the evoloution tree worked fine with the lower ranked, weaker units, it took me a few hours of trial and error to work out how to evolve into the fouth and fifth generation units.

But apart from that, great work, I loved it.

Excellent!

I dont often leave reviews, but I felt compelled in this case.

Mad Vlad II is a cracking little game, and I couldnt help but feel a sense of nostalgia when I played it, its very reminicent of the old side scrolling platform games that were all the rage when I was a kid, and for me it was definately a pleasant trip down memory lane.

I've noticed a few complaints in previous reviews about the games visuals and graphics, but I actually liked them, I felt they suited the game nicely.

The storyline was enjoyable, with great little cutscenes, and a very British humour to it. I thought the mini games were a really nice touch too, the helped break up the game nicely, and stop it becoming to repetative.

One thing that stood out for me though was the music score, some of the pieces really set the mood, especially during the boss fights (which were also well thought out, and great fun) .

Overall it was a fun little game, that has lots going for it. If you are like me and was brought up playing the old platform games then you will probabally enjoy this. Its has a few niggling bugs, but nothing that took away from my overall enjoyment. 10/10 from me and I really hope that there will be more from Mad Vlad in the future XD

I'm a lumberjack and I'm Ok.
